About the Project

The Konigi Prototyping Framework project was started to assemble and document a framework for HTML wireframing and prototyping using existing open source tools and web standards.

The idea is to consider the process of creating page schematics in wireframe/graphics software, and develop toolkit that allows UX designers to incorporate HTML as part or in place of the wireframing process. Designers with HTML experience should be able to take ideas they've sketched out, and quickly lay out pages in HTML. The HTML wireframes will initially be viewed as gray boxes and UI elements. As ideas get refined and interactive behaviors are added, the wireframe morphs gradually into a working prototype.
