Adobe TV is a video on demand portal for information about Adobe products, including instructional videos and behind-the-scenes tours. The portal sports a dark color palette and subtle beveled edges, keeping consistent with the look and feel of applications like Lightroom and the various Labs projects, and giving the site the appearance of expensive audio/video componentry in a pro rack.
The site is very simply organized, with only a handful or channels. Video pages display a spartan player with play/pause, rewind, and volume controls and a time buffer. The layout is similar to most video portals, with video information and share/embed tools to the right of the player, and related videos below.

I have tried the adobe media player (desktop) and must say I am really disappointed.
First, you cannot insert the "@" sign via alt-gr+q when signing in with your email...
Second, from a user interface/experience standpoint it is really, really nothing new at all. I was very pleased and suprised by the innovation of the joost player, which had some nice usability features.
I thought, interface design could be moved forward especially in this economically growing field of media players...
Adobe, however, has not pulled one creative string and gone for a super-conservative, standard interface.

Thanks for the insight into the Media Player. I haven't installed it yet, but will have to see it for myself now. Sounds pretty disappointing. -m
