Huffduffer, a hybrid bookmarking/podcast service features a whimsical inline registration form that's formatted in sentences with blank areas that the user fills out with their name, password, etc. Kind of a fun, unexpected way to format the form. Reminds me of the kinds of forms you'd fill out by hand in days of old, which goes with the retro style of the site.

I'm sure a some people would argue against using it because it's not readily obvious that the border-bottom inputs are inputs.
what would you recommend? maybe a regular ________ with an X or a red arrow like in contracts?
You mean like "sign here" flags? That would be clever. I dont't think I'd do a form this way on the types of things I work on.
This is a great super-fast CSS tutorial on modifying input styles. I tried it with selects and textareas too but they're a bit trickier in IE (some JS code required to get around the problems).
And the flags are a great idea. You'd really just need one on the first input that says "start here." Once people understand that the inputs are dotted, it can disappear and not bother them again.
