Adobe TV is a video on demand portal for information about Adobe products, including instructional videos and behind-the-scenes tours. The portal sports a dark color palette and subtle beveled edges, keeping consistent with the look and feel of applications like Lightroom and the various Labs projects, and giving the site the appearance of expensive audio/video componentry in a pro rack.
The site is very simply organized, with only a handful or channels. Video pages display a spartan player with play/pause, rewind, and volume controls and a time buffer. The layout is similar to most video portals, with video information and share/embed tools to the right of the player, and related videos below.
VaryWell is the portfolio of Seattle, Washington designers Ryan and Jason Hickner. The Hickners work on in web sites, interactive displays, and interesting hardware projects including a very cool LED light color mixer. Their portfolio is a nice demonstration of the the Flash Papervision tools. Selecting a project presents a stack of media that are unshuffled and spread around the screen, much as you would spread a set of slides on a lightbox. Click to focus on an image or video, and view that object's details or watch that movie. Very nicely done.
